Before becoming a professional printmaker and consultant, Jon Lybrook worked in a variety of mediums, including 16mm movie film. From these experiments he derived techniques that helped to inform his current process in creating expressionistic, non-figurative images using light-sensitive film.
His early films, like many of his predecessors in the experimental film genre had a hands-on approach to working with and manipulating the medium directly both in the camera and outside of it.
